We had a wonderful time with the kids at the Lac Thien Orphanage in April 2023. We contacted the nuns who run the orphanage and asked them what they needed most. We then went to several shops and bought a lot of essential items for them. We loaded everything in our van and drove to the orphanage. We unloaded everything in the main hall and greeted all the children who came to see us.

We brought a lot of things for the children, such as boxes of ramen, milk, dried shrimp, snacks, cooking oil, toiletries, detergent, cleaning products, and hygiene products.

The best part of the visit was when we gave each child a frozen ice cream popsicle. They were so happy and excited! They thanked us and gave us hugs. It was a heartwarming sight!

This charity visit was sponsored by Vanessa Nguyen, Alysha Sims, Songloc Dao, Tuan Nguyen, Philip Doughty, Koshu Takatsuji, Daniel Cole, Ronald Schierer, Elaine Nguyen, Tuan Nguyen, and Long Dang. We are very grateful for everyone’s generosity!!!

ABOUT THE LAC THIEN ORPHANAGE

Founded in 2006, the Lac Thien Orphanage is part of the Phat Buu pagoda and lies north of Nha Trang in Ninh Hoa district. The orphanage’s origins are endearing. On a peaceful day, a baby was left at the gates of the pagoda. The nuns cared for him, and from that day on they have taken in orphan children from the area . The orphanage is run by the nuns of Lac Thien and its head nun, Chon Minh. They rely entirely upon donations, most of which come from people in the community. There are many children at the orphanage, from newborns to teenagers. They also care for several adults who suffer from handicaps.
