In mid-June 2019 we visited the Sunflower Orphanage with lots of essential supplies and a fun surprise birthday party. Sunflower is a loving home to mostly teenage orphans, plus 2 toddlers. Located in the heart of Nha Trang, the caretakers provide a loving and nurturing home to the children.
After talking to the caretakers, we bought lots of essential supplies for the orphanage. The two little girls at the orphanage, nicknamed Be Ba and Be Hai, are twins and were turning 2 years old soon. We thought it would be fun surprise to bring cake and presents for the children.
When our team arrived, the children helped carry everything into the main common room. We brought boxes of milk, seasonings, bean varieties, packages of noodles, diapers, cleaning products, laundry detergent, and many pairs of new sandals.
Then the birthday party began! The girls’ brothers and sisters dote on them lovingly and were very excited to give them a party. We brought cakes with the girls’ names on them and handed out presents. Their brothers and sisters helped blow out the candles and everyone had cake, ice cream, and popsicles. So fun!
