In August 2024 we had a lovely visit with the children at Thien An. We spoke to the caretakers ahead of time to learn what items we should bring this month. After taking down a detailed shopping list, our team of volunteers went to local markets to buy all the provisions. Next, we loaded up a van and made the drive out to the home.
When we arrived, we stacked everything on the courtyard steps, and the children came out to greet our team. We brought boxes of ramen, packages of noodles, boxes of milk, sausages, seasonings, breading, sugar, soy sauce, fruit wraps, yogurt, condensed milk, snacks, cleaning supplies, insect spray, floor soap, and hand soap.
As a treat for the children, our team prepared sweet drinks for all to enjoy. So many smiles!

ABOUT THE THIEN AN CHARITY HOME AND SCHOOL
This loving place is located in the hilly countryside of Khanh Hoa province. There are very few schools in this region and illiteracy among children is high. The local Thien An Catholic Church sought to help the children complete their schooling, so started the Thien An Charity Home and School. The children have housing accommodations and receive their meals in a communal dining hall. Classrooms have been set up so the children can all receive the education they richly deserve.
