On March 8, 2017 we visited the Sunflower Orphanage with lots of essential supplies, and a fun balloon party. Sunflower is located in the heart of Nha Trang, and cares for teenage orphans at several locations. Its sister orphanage, Dai An, cares for younger orphans in a country setting to the south of Nha Trang. Knowing they are dependent upon donations for survival, we contacted the orphanage’s caregivers about their most pressing needs. They provided a detailed list, and our team brought all of the supplies to the orphanage. These included boxes of noodles, bags of rice, bags of beans, seasonings, milk, jackets, kitchen supplies, brooms, diapers, school supplies, and snacks.
To make the visit fun, our volunteers brought lots of balloons, and the children had fun blowing them up and batting the balloons around. This visit was made possible through the kindness of a family in the USA.
