In January 2022 we had a great visit to the Dai An Orphanage. It’s the Lunar New Year in Vietnam, which is the biggest holiday of the year. In addition to bringing the orphanage a monthly allotment of supplies, we wanted to do something special for the children to celebrate the holiday.

After speaking to the caretakers, our team bought all the essential supplies at local markets. We brought  sweet rice, seasonings, boxes of instant noodles, bamboo shoots, fish sauce, cooking oil, macaroni noodles, floor soap, and laundry detergent.

To prepare for a big Tet party for the children, we brought many traditional sticky rice cakes, banh Tet and banh chung, traditional treats and sweets, and snacks. We also prepared sweet drinks for everyone to enjoy. So fun!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations of Sharon Kelly, Stephen Milne, Scott Huynh, and Hoai Khong. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE DAI AN ORPHANAGE

The Dai An Orphanage is located in Cam Ranh district, south of Nha Trang, and cares for approximately 30 young children. It was founded by the same church that runs the Sunflower Orphanage in Nha Trang. Dai An is in a tranquil countryside locale and has a large facility for the children to grow and play. The caretakers provide a nurturing and loving home for these amazing children. There are also classrooms in the orphanage to provide the children with extra tutoring after school.
