In April 2023, Lovingkindness Vietnam delivered much-needed food and supplies to the Phu Quang Orphanage. The food and supplies helped to ensure that the children at the orphanage have enough to eat and that they can continue to live in a safe and healthy environment.

We spoke with the head nun beforehand to get a list of the supplies that were most needed. We then arranged with local markets to have the supplies delivered to the orphanage. The children were eager to help carry the supplies inside and stack them in the common room.

This month, we brought bags of rice, varieties of boxes of ramen soup, different flavors of milk, and bottles of soy sauce. As a treat, we also brought ice cream for the orphans, who shared them with other children in the neighborhood. It was a lovely day!

We are grateful to Elaine Nguyen, Bichlien Nguyen, and an anonymous donor from New York Life for their kind donations that made this charity trip possible. We are also grateful to the head nun and the children of the Phu Quang Orphanage for their warm welcome and hospitality.

About the Phu Quang Orphanage

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000s. For many years, the orphanage has been a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment.

The orphanage provides the children with food, shelter, clothing, education, and medical care. The children also receive love and support from the staff and volunteers.

The Phu Quang Orphanage is a place where children can thrive and grow. We are grateful for the opportunity to support this important work.
