In September 2023 our team had a wonderful time playing games with the children at the Dai An Orphanage. It’s the Mid-Autumn Festival in Vietnam, which means traditional foods and lots of fun for children. In addition to bringing food and general supplies for the month, we wanted to do something special on our visit to Dai An.
We coordinated with the caretakers, and brought lots of general supplies for the month. This included bags of rice, boxes of ramen, bottles of fish sauce and soy sauce, cooking oil, penne noodles, mung beans, eggs, and shampoo.
For the festival, our team brought all the children out to the main courtyard and gardens of the orphanage. We then organized lots of fun and silly games with the children that had everyone smiling and laughing. We handed out prizes to the game winners, then everyone got bubble tea drinks. We also brought mooncakes and lanterns to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. It was such a fun day!
This special holiday charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Sharon Kelly, Stephen Milne, and Scott Huynh. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE DAI AN ORPHANAGE
The Dai An Orphanage is located in Cam Ranh district, south of Nha Trang, and cares for approximately 30 young children. It was founded by the same church that runs the Sunflower Orphanage in Nha Trang. Dai An is in a tranquil countryside locale and has a large facility for the children to grow and play. The caretakers provide a nurturing and loving home for these amazing children. There are also classrooms in the orphanage to provide the children with extra tutoring after school.
