The spirit of the Lunar New Year was in full bloom this February as our team visited the children of Thien An Charity Home. For these resilient youngsters, Tet is more than just a holiday; it is a season of renewal and hope. Our goal was to ensure that every child felt the warmth and dignity that this festive time represents.
Upon our arrival, the sound of laughter filled the air as the children played in the courtyard. As they gathered near the steps, our team unloaded a bounty of festive essentials. Each child received a comprehensive Tet gift set tailored to bring the holiday traditions into their homes, featuring:
- Traditional Banh Tet (sticky rice cakes)
- Sunflower seeds and festive sweets
- Essential pantry staples like soy sauce, seasonings, and soft drinks
We also took a moment to honor the dedicated caretakers at Thien An. Their tireless commitment to these children is the heartbeat of the home, and it was a privilege to provide them with gifts of appreciation.
This celebration was made possible by the unwavering generosity of our donor community: Steven Burger, Long Nguyen, and an anonymous donor. Your support turned a simple visit into an unforgettable memory of joy and belonging. Thank you for making this Tet truly special!
ABOUT THE THIEN AN CHARITY HOME AND SCHOOL
This loving place is located in the hilly countryside of Khanh Hoa province. There are very few schools in this region and illiteracy among children is high. The local Thien An Catholic Church sought to help the children complete their schooling, so started the Thien An Charity Home and School. The children have housing accommodations and receive their meals in a communal dining hall. Classrooms have been set up so the children can all receive the education they richly deserve.
