Our team recently made our way back to the Thua Sai Home for Disabled Children for our monthly supply run. To ensure our contribution made the biggest impact, we coordinated directly with the caretakers beforehand to tailor our shopping list to their most urgent needs.
Filling the Van
After a busy morning navigating the local markets, we managed to load up the van with a comprehensive haul of nutrition and hygiene essentials. These supplies are vital for the daily comfort and health of the children.
This month’s delivery included:
- Pantry Staples: Large bags of rice, cooking oil, packages of pho, sugar, soy sauce, and various seasonings.
- Health & Hygiene: Diapers, shampoo, body wash, toiletries, and insect spray.
- Treats: Assorted snacks and milk.
Exercises and Smiles
Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a wonderful sight: all the children gathered in the courtyard. Before we got to work unloading the supplies into the common room, the children treated our volunteers to an impressive demonstration of their morning exercise routine. Their energy was truly infectious!
To wrap up the visit on a sweet note, our team prepared fresh boba tea drinks for everyone to enjoy together. It was a beautiful day of connection and community.
These monthly missions are only possible because of the kindness of our supporters. Our thanks to all who contributed to this visit: Steven Burger, Vanessa Nguyen, Alysha Sims, and an anonymous donor. Thank you for helping us keep the shelves full and the spirits high at Thua Sai!
ABOUT THE THUA SAI HOME FOR DISABLED CHILDREN
Located in a peaceful country setting in Cam Ranh, to the south of Nha Trang, Thua Sai offers a home and school for children with neurological disorders whose parents cannot afford the specialized care their children require. The nuns and caretakers teach the children in classrooms on the grounds, and it is a loving home to these wonderful children.
