In March 2024 we had a great visit with the children at the Loc Tho Charity School. The students receive free meals at the school, and with so many mouths to feed, lots of food is needed every month. We reached out to the school caretakers and asked what we could bring on our visit. They provided a detailed list, and our team organized a visit.

When we arrived, the children took a break from their studies to come out to the courtyard and greet our team. On this visit, we brought bags of rice, boxes of ramen, flour, milk, cooking oil, mushrooms, vegan pork, glass noodles, seasonings, vegan meat pies, vegan fish sauce, and fresh vegetables.

As a treat for all the children, our team then prepared bubble tea drinks. A yummy snack during their study break!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donations from Megan Tieu. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE LOC THO CHARITY SCHOOL

The Loc Tho Pagoda has had a charity school since 1991, which was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu Y.  Sister Dieu Y dedicated her life to the children and passed away in 2014. The school is now run by the amazing and loving nuns of the Loc Tho pagoda. It’s a free primary school for poor children in the community whose parents cannot afford the costs of a public education. Textbooks, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and teachers’ fees are all paid for by the school, and all children are welcome. The school provides breakfast and lunch for the students. The pagoda also cares for several orphans and foster children.
