In January 2024 we had a great visit with the children at the Ngoc Van Orphanage. We had reached out to the caretakers and made a detailed list of items the orphanage needed for the month. Our team of volunteers did all the shopping at local markets, loaded up a van, and made the drive north into Ninh Hoa.
When we arrived, the children came out to greet our team. We brought all the food and supplies into the main common room. On this visit, we brought packages of milk, instant porridge, meat pies, fresh vegetables, seasonings, canned fish, and toiletries.
The Lunar New Year, Tet, is a few weeks away, and we surprised the children with lots of traditional Tet sweets. There were lots of smiles!
This charity trip was made possible through the kindhearted donations from Quynh Pham and Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Thank you!!!
ABOUT THE NGOC VAN ORPHANAGE
Located in the northern part of Khanh Hoa province, the Ngoc Van Orphanage was founded in 2020 after a big storm hit central Vietnam. There were many deaths from the storm, and several orphans were brought to the Ngoc Van Pagoda to be cared for the monks there. Since then, the orphanage has grown and now cares for about 20 small children.
