In March 2021 we took the children of the Phu Quang Orphanage on a fun shopping trip. We had spoken to the nuns and learned the children were in need of new shoes. Our volunteers brought all the children to a local market and everyone got a pick out a pair of shoes and sandals. They also picked out some backpacks, hats, belts, and toys. It was lots of fun!

We also brought the orphanage essential supplies and foodstuff. The children brought everything into the common room and played with the balloons we brought. The supplies included bags of rice, vegan fish sauce, seasonings, packages of macaroni noodles, and boxes of ramen noodles.

Finally, we handed out ice cream cones to all the children. It was such a lovely visit!

This charity trip was made possible through the kind donation of Dan, Van, and Devin Haynes. Thank you!!!

ABOUT THE PHU QUANG ORPHANAGE

The Phu Quang Orphanage was founded by Sister Thich Nu Dieu An at the Phu Quang pagoda in the early 2000’s. For many years, the orphanage was a loving home to a group of orphans and a foster home to neighborhood children whose families struggle to support and provide for them. Phu Quang is a small orphanage, and cares for just under 15 children in a loving environment.
