A Big Field Trip for the Amazing Orphans of Lac Thien

On June 3, 2017 we arranged and coordinated a big field trip for all of the children of the Lac Thien Orphanage. Lac Thien cares for over 30 orphans at a loving home in Ninh Hoa district, to the north of Nha Trang. We told the nuns that we wanted to have a fun field trip for the children, to give them a special day and to celebrate the end of the school year. The nuns had some suggestions, and our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, helped make all the arrangements.

Starting in the morning, all the children went to a restaurant for a big breakfast. Next, they boarded a bus, and traveled to the Nhan Tam Eco Park. They hiked the trails, explored the bamboo forest, played games, and had a fresh fruit picnic in the park. After a fun afternoon, the children got back on the bus, and went to a fast food restaurant to reenergize on fried chicken, French fries, and drinks. Next, we took the children to the beach in Nha Trang for playtime in the surf and sand. At the end of the day, the children boarded the bus back home, and most slept all the way back to the orphanage. A very full and fun day!
