On October 20, 2016 we visited three orphanages with essential supplies and special gifts. When we reached out to the nuns and caretakers, they had specific lists of needs, and we put together a detailed plan to buy everything for the orphanages. For our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, it ended up being a very busy day! All three of these visits were sponsored by JL Support Services.

Our first stop was the Song Lo Orphanage. Song Lo is a small orphanage to the west of Nha Trang that cares for about 10 young orphans in a peaceful home in the countryside. The nuns had asked for basic living essentials, and we brought them bags of rice, noodles, bags of dried mushrooms, packages of vegetarian foods, diapers, blankets and washcloths, hygiene products, soaps and shampoo, umbrellas, and snacks. It was a rainy day, and the children opened their umbrellas to play in the courtyard.

The second stop was the Sunflower Orphanage. Caring for about 25 middle and high school aged children, Sunflower is located in the heart of Nha Trang. The caretakers had a very special item on their wish list: a new refrigerator. With so many growing children to feed, the orphanage’s existing refrigerator wasn’t enough, so we brought them a brand new one. The orphans eagerly unpacked it from the box, and we handed out balloons for the younger children to play.

The third visit was to the Thien Tam Orphanage. Thien Tam is near Nha Trang, to the south, and cares for about 20 young orphans in a loving home. The caretakers had asked for basic living essentials, and we brought them bags of rice, boxes of noodles, packages of white noodles, bottles of cooking oil, bottles of fish and soy sauce, a box of dried fish, and bags of beans. We handed out balloons and snacks for the children, who turned the visit into a party.

Thank you for providing for all of these wonderful children!!!
