On January 15, 2016 we brought food supplies and lunar new year gifts to a poor community in Phu Yen province. Phu Yen is north of Nha Trang, and has many impoverished communities. We worked closely with the local government, identified poor families, and arranged for them to gather at the local community center to receive their gifts.

With the lunar new year approaching, we wished to offer families basis necessities as well as gifts to make their new year special. Each family received rice, noodles, cooking oil, new clothes, and traditional snacks to ring in the new year. For the children, we gave bags of snacks and toys.

Our lead coordinator, Mai Khanh, together with her Guiding Light group of volunteers, organized the visit and handed out the allotments to each family. This wonderful contribution was made possible by the McDuffie and Stewart families.

Thank you!
