Aid for fire victims and help for a poor community

On January 20, 2017 we brought aid to victims of a massive fire in Nha Trang, and also brought help to a poor community in Ninh Hoa. On January 18, a huge fire broke out in a poor community adjacent the river in Nha Trang. No lives were lost, but many people lost everything in the fire. That the tragedy happened one week before the Vietnamese new year, Tet, was all the more heartbreaking. We mobilized our volunteers and worked with the local charity Vien Giac to locate the residents who had lost everything in the fire. Our coordinators handed out allotments to representatives of 80 families who had lost their homes in the fire, in hopes that they could feel the touch of kindness in their time of trial.

Also on January 20, our team of Loan and Nhan visited a poor community in Ninh Hoa to the north of Nha Trang. With Tet approaching, the costs of many basic good skyrockets, and many families struggle at a time they should be feeling joyous. On this visit, we brought basic food essentials to 40 poor families in the community, and visited several homes with people with disabilities.

All of these visits were made possible through the kind donations of JL Support Services.

Thank you!!!
